Notes

Cutthorpe includes some dwellings which were recorded on the census under Upper Newbold or Four Lane Ends and not on the Cutthorpe portion of the census. These are not included in the above lists.

One place named in the 1841 census is 'Gumble' this might be the place marked on present day maps as Jumble Hole. There were two households living at Gumble in 1841.

It appears from old maps that Ox Close is a former name of Bluster Castle, a farm near Birley.
